Carbon neutral generator rental provider

MEMS specialises power generator hire and operates an extensive transportation fleet to deliver, position and refuel these heavy items of plant. We carry an environmental obligation to reduce our CO2 emissions and help tackle global climate change by offsetting all our in-house emissions. Our customers are also able to contribute by offsetting the carbon footprint created when the diesel is burnt during the generator hire period.

MEMS is the first generator rental company in the UK to offer this facility: the first of a series of initiatives to provide a positive impact on the environment and further reduce our carbon footprint.

Waste disposal

Our generator waste disposal policy dictates that when routine servicing of the generators has been carried out, the used oil and coolant from the generators is transferred to large waste tanks that are collected weekly by specialist contractors for disposal in a controlled and environmentally-friendly manner.

Bunded fuel tanks

Our fleet of generators are all equipped with fully-bunded base tanks and specialised connectors. All MEMS bulk fuel storage tanks are double-skinned with a high level feed point; custom-designed road fuel tankers are equipped with self sealing, leak-proof hoses and accessories. All our equipment complies with Control of Pollution (Oil Storage) (England) Regulations 2001.

MEMS is proud of its ISO14001 accreditation, which proves how seriously we take our obligation to the environment. All MEMS operatives are trained by an independent company specialising in the handling of hazardous substances. Our commitment to the environment is reflected in our operating polices which run throughout the business.
