Medway Electrical and Mechanical Services (MEMS) began trading in 1978 as an electrical engineering company primarily working in the consumer market. In the late 80s MEMS began installing and commissioning generators and associated equipment for the major generator manufacturers. During the 90s, MEMS extended its expertise and moved into the sales and supply of turn-key power solutions and soon gained affiliated dealer status for two of the world’s largest generator manufacturers. MEMS entry into the generator rental arena was during the run up to the millennium when existing customers expressed a desire for reliable and effective generator rental solutions to cover this period.

Today

With 30 years of experience in the generator industry, MEMS now operates one of the country’s most specialist generator rental fleets with units ranging from 30kVA – 1400kVA. Our bespoke purpose-designed fleet of generators is supported by a vast transportation fleet and refuelling operation all monitored and directed by a state of the art generator rental control centre operating 24/7 from our head office. The core focus since moving into generator rental has been to provide the UK’s premier service, ensuring extremely fast reaction times for our customers: we routinely provide disaster recovery solutions to our blue-chip clients providing multi megawatt solutions within a matter of hours. We also have a generator service and maintenance department providing routine servicing for permanently installed generators all over the country.

Tomorrow

As we proceed into the next decade our primary focus is to remain the supplier of choice in the generator rental market and build on our experience in this sector. Continued high level investments will be committed to ensure our equipment continues to set the standard in the industry, and our focus on customer service will be even further improved to ensure our clients’ expectations are always exceeded. With more scope than ever to expand our customer base and offer far advanced rental solutions our aspirations are set very high. This, coupled with the tendency of the current management team to further develop into new market sectors, should provide greater opportunities than in previous years. The future looks both exciting and rich with possibilities.
