Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator

Salary Negotiable dependant on experience

Hours Shift Pattern: 5days on 3days off, average 39.5 hrs per week

About you
You must be able to demonstrate knowledge and working experience of welding and sheet metal work with an associated mechanical qualification.

You will have good interpersonal skills and verbal/written communication skills with a customer focused approach in order to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

You must have a full UK Driving Licence.

About the role
You will help maintain our fleet of generators to a standard set by the company. The role will be varied, repairing and fabricating sheet metal works and items for generator enclosures and vehicles as well as facilities projects both on and off site.

Working as part of a team making / fabricating useable to one off customisable parts. You will be working safely around heavy machinery with multiple different types of workshop tooling.

You will also support the wider business with regards to our rental operation and occasionally supporting on site installation and deliveries.

Key responsibilities

  • Mechanical repairs and rebuilds
  • Manufacturing
  • Mechanical upfit of equipment
  • Reactive repairs to Generators/ Vehicles and site
  • Preventive maintenance
  • Training of apprentices
  • All welding and sheet metal work
  • To ensure that workshop equipment is checked and operating as it should
  • Installation/ De-installation of temporary mechanical systems
  • Assisting the sales team with mechanical installations
  • Assisting all other areas of the business
  • General maintenance and repairs both on and off of site
  • Working at all MEMS sites and customers sites as required
