Supporting Communities with Essential Resources
At the end of 2024, MEMS Power Generation collaborated with The Medway Hygiene Bank to address hygiene poverty in Medway, Kent. This initiative allowed us to contribute to an important cause and demonstrate our commitment to supporting communities where we operate.
Hygiene poverty continues to impact millions, creating barriers to work, education, and personal well-being. Through this collaboration, MEMS aimed to help individuals access essential hygiene products that many take for granted.

How MEMS Made a Difference
The Medway Hygiene Bank redistributes essential hygiene items such as toothpaste, deodorant, and sanitary products to those in need, helping to combat the often-overlooked issue of hygiene poverty. MEMS supported their efforts by setting up a convenient collection point at our HQ, encouraging staff to donate a variety of essential products. Alongside this, we ran an internal awareness campaign to highlight the importance of hygiene poverty and inspire our team to take action. By making it simple and accessible for staff to get involved, we were able to contribute to a meaningful cause that aligns with our commitment to supporting the wider community.
Why It Mattered
Continuing the Conversation
The initiative has inspired conversations within MEMS about how we can continue supporting important causes in the future. Addressing hygiene poverty is a significant challenge that requires collective effort, and this collaboration demonstrated how businesses and communities can make a real difference when they work together.
At MEMS, we are considering how future initiatives could align with our commitment to the community and create lasting positive change. Hygiene poverty is a pressing issue, and every contribution helps ensure that more people have access to the essentials they need.
