Keeping your generators fuelled with 24/7 monitoring and managed refuelling, 365 days a year.
If you choose our Fuel Management service, MEMS manages your generator fuel throughout the hire, including 24/7 fuel monitoring, scheduled refuelling and in-house fuel delivery.
Your generators are monitored around the clock through MEMS Connect, giving our 24/7 staffed control room direct visibility of fuel levels. When fuel levels indicate that refuelling is required, MEMS Connect automatically triggers the requirement for a tanker, allowing our team to arrange replenishment without you needing to monitor fuel levels yourself.
We can provide same-day or next-day fuel delivery across the UK, as well as scheduled refuelling at agreed days and times. Our fuel service operates seven days a week, including weekends and bank holidays.
Customers can manage their own generator fuel if they prefer. For those choosing MEMS fuel management, our team takes responsibility for monitoring fuel levels and coordinating refuelling throughout the hire.
The service combines our in-house fuel operation with 24/7 monitoring through MEMS Connect, allowing fuel management to form part of the wider temporary power service.
Fuel requirements depend on factors including the generators being used, electrical load, operating hours, project duration, available fuel storage and site access. When MEMS fuel management is selected, these requirements can be considered as part of planning the temporary power arrangement.
If you choose our Fuel Management service, your generators are monitored 24/7 through MEMS Connect, giving our control room continuous visibility of fuel levels throughout the hire.
One of the questions we are frequently asked is: how do you know when a generator needs refuelling? MEMS Connect tells us when refuelling is required.
When fuel levels indicate that refuelling is required, MEMS Connect automatically triggers the requirement for a tanker. Our team can then arrange the fuel delivery without you needing to monitor fuel levels yourself.
MEMS operates its own fuel delivery service for customers using our Fuel Management service. We can provide same-day or next-day delivery regardless of the generator’s location in the UK, helping us support temporary power requirements nationwide.
Our purpose-built generator refuelling fleet ranges from 1,000-litre bowsers to 11,000-litre HGV tankers, giving us different delivery options to suit the location and requirements of the site. Our refuelling tankers comply with ADR requirements for the carriage of dangerous goods.
MEMS Connect allows our control room to communicate directly with each generator and remotely monitor its fuel level alongside other operational information.
It also allows us to calculate how much running time remains before a generator requires refuelling, helping our team plan fuel deliveries in advance.
Fuel-level data also helps us verify deliveries and identify unexpected changes in fuel level, including potential fuel loss or leakage.
MEMS Connect also monitors generator load, location and equipment performance, providing our 24-hour control room with detailed operational information from equipment in the field.
Automatic fuel-level monitoring is not the only way we can manage refuelling. Some customers require deliveries on particular days or at specific times because of site access, operating requirements or their own preferred schedule.
Where required, MEMS can schedule refuelling for specific days and times, with the requirement managed through MEMS Connect.
This allows the fuel management service to be adapted to the way your site operates.
Temporary generators do not only operate during normal working hours, and neither does our fuel management service. MEMS refuels generators seven days a week, including weekends and all UK bank holidays, including Christmas Day.
Combined with 24/7 monitoring through MEMS Connect, this allows us to manage fuel requirements when generators continue operating outside normal working hours.
Fuel management can support both planned temporary power projects and unexpected outages.
For planned generator rental, we can plan fuel requirements and schedule refuelling around the expected operating hours and requirements of the project.
During an unexpected outage, operating hours and the duration of the requirement may be less predictable. If you choose our Fuel Management service, MEMS Connect monitors fuel levels 24/7 and helps our team manage refuelling while the generators remain in operation.
For urgent requirements, MEMS provides 24/7 emergency generator hire across the UK, with fuel management available as part of the temporary power service.
MEMS can supply conventional diesel or Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) for compatible generators hired from us, depending on the requirements of the project.
HVO is a renewable diesel alternative that can provide up to 90% lower lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions than fossil diesel, depending on the source fuel and calculation method.
Our team can discuss the appropriate fuel option as part of your temporary generator hire requirement.
Choosing MEMS Fuel Management brings generator hire, fuel monitoring and refuelling together as one managed service.
